How to ask her out over text

Verdict first

Ask with a statement, not a question. "Thursday, 7pm, coffee" gets yeses. "Maybe we could hang out sometime?" gets "maybe".

Timing

One to three days of good back-and-forth is enough. The longer you text, the more the chat replaces the date — and the more she builds an image you then have to live up to.

The invite

Specific day, time and place, plus a reason it'll be fun:

You're fun to talk to. Let's do this in person — Thursday, 7pm, Blue Bottle?
I know a bar with the best fries in the city. Wednesday at 8, you in?

If she can't make it

Ask what works for her once. If she offers a time, great. If not, step back — she'll find you if she wants to.

No worries. What does your week look like?
Verdict

A clear invite is attractive. A vague one is homework.
